My sisters and I are still trying to come out with more gift ideas as Father’s Day gifts. When it comes to gifts for men, gift ideas are more limited if compared to gifts for women.

We have given our uncle shoes, wallets, luggage, watches and garage tools as Father’s Day gifts all these years. So we would like something more special this year. What about installing new garage flooring or building one of those durable metal garages?

In the past, we would definitely opt for wood and brick as the materials used in building a garage. With gaining popularity of steel buildings that are more flexible, better for the environment, and inexpensive to implement, we will not think twice.

According to some friends who have also bought metal buildings and steel carports, we can expect savings of about a third of what we pay for traditional materials. The savings come from the lower labor costs as well as the faster construction time.

My sisters and I have been thinking of giving our uncle a big Father’s Day gift this year — installing a long lasting garage flooring. I am sure giving his garage flooring a new look is going to be a big surprise.

My uncle tried to repair the worn, eroded and pitted garage floors with cement like materials a few months ago. But they ended up leaving large damaged holes or depressions due to moisture and abrasion.

Our plan is to hire some flooring experts to make efficient and long lasting repairs to original repairs using 100% epoxy floor system.

The garage is more than a place where my uncle stores his vehicle. It is also used as a storage space, workshop, or recreation room. In light of these uses, we think that installing garage flooring and garage floor mats can elevate the aesthetics of the space and make the garage a place in which my uncle and his family want to spend time.

Mom and grandma were so happy to receive their Mother’s Day gifts yesterday. Now I am thinking what I should get for my uncle as a Father’s Day gift. My uncle was the one who brought me and my sisters up, so he is like my father.

I remember my uncle complained about the wiring systems. He went to shop for new lighting for the home the other day and was asked by the sales executive if his house was a new one or old one. It’s an old home and has old wiring systems that may not be able to support just any new lighting system.

He was kind of disappointed as he had picked up a few kichler lighting and fine art lamps.

I guess he doesn’t know that upgrading the wiring system can solve his problem. It’s good to install new lighting systems as most new systems today consume less electricity. Fluorescent bulbs burn 30% less electricity than standard bulbs, and can now produce a very natural light, unlike the garish lights of the old fluorescent.

Perhaps installing new wiring and lighting systems for him can be a very good Father’s Day gift.
